Reiki
40 minutes $45 / 60 minutes $65
Reiki is a form of energy work that promotes deep relaxation and healing. It is guided by the concept that a universal life force energy flows through each of us, and helps bring healing to certain areas, and overall, for optimal health and well-being. Reiki is gentle, can be used with anyone in any state of health, and addresses the whole person, body, emotions, mind and spirit. Clients express a sense of calm, joy, and comfort during and after Reiki sessions. (Can be a stand-alone session or blended into holistic massage.)
Myofascial Therapy
60 minutes $65 / 80 minutes $85
“Myo” means muscle and “fascia” is connective tissue. The body is composed of connective tissue that makes up and surrounds all the muscles, in a sort of 3-D web. These tissues, when healthy, are fluid and stretchy, and respond to the many demands we make on them in our daily lives. From emotional stress, trauma, or repetitive use, these tissues can get gummed up and stuck, causing painful ‘knots’ of tension. Myofascial therapy is comprised of a range of slow-moving techniques that relieve the knots and restore fluidity to the tissues, from gentle warming holds to slow stretching to deep direct pressure. The therapist is deeply focused on feeling and working with the fascial tissues, while clients often report a meditative state or floating sensation. This type of work can feel both subtle and intense, and can have profound healing effects on the body and the mind. (Can be a stand-alone session or blended into holistic massage.)
Hot Stone Massage
80 minutes $100
In Hot Stone massage, the therapist applies smooth, warm stones to different areas of the body, and also massages with the stones and warm lotion or oil. As the warmth deeply permeates the tissues, tension and adhesions soften and melt away. Hot Stone Massage is popular not only because it feels luxurious and special, but because the relaxation experienced during the session can be so comforting and complete.
Chair Massage
25 minutes $30
Perfect for a pick-me-up or focus on an area of tension. You remain fully clothed and sit, leaning forward, in our supportive massage chair while your therapist uses pressure point therapy and compressions on the back, neck, shoulders, and scalp, to loosen up your tissues and soothe away tension. Ideal on a lunch hour or after work, comfortable for those new to massage who may not feel ready to try a massage on the massage table.
Thai Body Therapy with Dennis Cronin-Doyle*
70 minutes $75 / 90 minutes for $95
Thai, sometimes called Traditional Thai massage or Thai Yoga Massage, is an ancient form of therapy using a combination of muscle compression, joint movement, assisted stretching, and energy balancing. Somewhat like Shiatsu, the client wears comfortable clothing, so no need to worry about undressing. Thai is traditionally done on a floor mat, but Dennis has adapted his style to a massage table for greater comfort and relaxation for a client. Though Thai is Dennis’ principle clinical approach, he also combines other massage disciplines as needed, including: Ortho-Bionomy techniques (working with the nervous system); Myofascial Release; Reflexology and Healing Touch. No single modality is perfect for every client, so the wise use of integrated therapy is essential and allows Dennis to customize a program to each individual.
*Add on 20 minutes of reflexology to any session with Dennis for an additional $30.
MAT – Muscle Activation Techniques, with Rachael Durnell
60 – 75 minutes $85 / Or save $5 off of each session when you buy a package of 5, only $400
This bodywork is designed to create optimal stability and mobility for overall joint health, in addition to creating an environment of less stress for the body as a whole. More like physical therapy than massage, the client wears comfortable clothing (no jeans or skirts, please) and the practitioner assesses range of motion (ROM) in areas of concern. Often the body sets up compensation patterns, in which one or more muscles that should be acting to produce a given movement are too weak to do so, so other muscles take over to complete the movement. Over time, this creates stress, joint and muscle pain, and fatigue. With MAT, the practitioner asks the client to press against the therapist’s hands in specific directions to determine the strength and weakness of every muscle acting during a certain movement, and then helps retrain the muscles to work together correctly. This is similar to connecting-the-dots to make a clear picture, in that the brain can then account for all muscles which make a complete and stable movement. Ideal for athletes, and for anyone with chronic or recurring pain patterns. Rachael is a licensed massage therapist, ACSM Personal Trainer and the only Muscle Activation Techniques Specialist in the state of Missouri.
